A Cornish teenager who reached the final of Gary Barlow's Let it Shine talent show will be introducing and performing at a fundraising Cornish entertainment showcase in Truro next week.

Huw Roberts, who was a finalist in the BBC show with the band Nightfall, will take to the stage for Kidz 4 Cornwall at The Hall for Cornwall on Tuesday July 11.

Huw used to attend Stagecoach Performing Arts in Truro when he was invited to audition for Let it Shine, and event organiser Eily Tatlow said: "I have no doubt that Huw will succeed in the music industry, he is a very talented and grounded young man."

Kidz 4 Cornwall is a music, song and dance extravaganza highlighting the wealth of rising talent across the county. Some of the acts performing on July 11 are Stagecoach Performing Arts Truro, The Big Dance Company, Penzance Gym Club, The Motown Babes from Penair School, Playrite Theatre School, Bounce Dance Academy, Bev-Lyn School of Dance, Who’s Jude, Vox Dance Studios, Samba junto ao mar, and acts from Penair, Doubletrees, Bude Junior, and Trevisker schools and Roseland Academy.

Kidz 4 Cornwall was developed in 2007 as a platform for talented young people to perform on a professional stage in front of a large audience. Kidz 4 Cornwall is run by Eily Tatlow and the shows have raised over £6,800.00 for Cornwall Music Therapy Trust, Music Cornwall Wider Opportunities Scheme, Bude Junior School, Tywardreath School, Newquay Samba Band and Roseland Voices.

Tickets are available from the Hall for Cornwall box office on 01872 262 466.
