Anglo-Americana trio Wildwood Kin from Exeter will be performing their first Cornish headline show in November at Truro’s newest live music venue, The Old Bakery.

The family trio, comprising of sisters Beth and Emillie Key and their cousin Meghann Loney, formed four years ago while in their mid to late teens. They borrow heavily from early folk influences, not least in their hypnotic three-part harmonies, but Turning Tides, their extraordinary debut album, delves deeply in to other genres, featuring both electric and acoustic instruments and boasting inventive electronics and spectral atmospherics.

In 2015 the girls were shortlisted for a BBC Radio Music Award and in 2016 their debut single Warrior Daughter spent several weeks on the Radio 2 playlist. Their tracks have notched several million streams on Spotify. They also feature on every track on Seth Lakeman's 2016 top 20 album Ballads of the Broken Few.

Last year the band signed to Sony's newly revived Silvertone label, and this year they released their own album.

The show will be the first for promoters SW1 in Cornwall’s newest venue, a re-generated former industrial bakery on the river in the heart of Truro. The Old Bakery, or Old Bakery Studios, is an underground maze of concrete and clay, housing an array of businesses from photographers and comedians to a pole dancing studio, with a vibe comparable to a trendy warehouse in Shoreditch.

Wildwood Kin perform at The Old Bakery on Friday, November 17, and tickets are available from seetickets.com
