The son of "The man with the golden voice" will be keeping his father's legend alive and performing some of his hits at Princess Pavilion on November 16.

Matt Monro Jr was 13 years old when he first performed a duet on stage with his father in 1977, a performance which inspired him to start his own musical career.

Over the years, the son of the legendary crooner found success as a musician in his own right and signed with EMI in 1995.

Now he is embarking on a 50 date tour of the UK entitled The Matt Monro Story.

The show will celebrate the life and music of the legendary singer and will be backed up with an audiovisual element and narration sharing some of the countless stories that go hand in hand with the music.

Matt said: "I don't think I've ever been this excited about an upcoming tour. It's going to be incredible. I love meeting the fans after the show and I am always knocked out at the love they still have for my father. I always get very emotional and this year will not be any different, I can't wait.”

Later this year Matt Jr will record his fourth album A Father's Legacy, which will have an acoustic feel.

Matt Monro Sr has been called one of the most underrated singers of the twentieth century, and Frank Sinatra called him "one of the finest male vocalists in the singing business".

He had a difficult childhood with his father dying at a young age, but eventually he became a successful singer after working as a London bus driver.
