Sir Vinyl returns to Sandsifter, Gwithian
11:30am Friday 6th July 2012 in Music
Sir Vinyl, the Penzance 24-hour party people, celebrate their return to Sandsifter, Gwithian, Hayle, with a rather special guest.
The legendary Earl Gateshead, main selector for the Trojan Sound System, will be joining the Sir Vinyl crew on Saturday, July 7.
Earl Gateshead, former resident of Blue Note, Fabric and Plastic People, has built a formidable reputation as a reggae DJ and host. Starting out playing reggae in between punk bands in Brixton, Gateshead has achieved near legendary status for his party vibe and currently tours the globe with an epic collection of rare Jamaican vinyl.
He will be in good company at Sandsifter with the regular Sir Vinyl team of DJs busting out the best dub and dance until 3am.
Sir Vinyl tunesmith and remixer Dave Spenceley said: “This looks set to be the latest in a run of truly memorable parties hosted by Penwith's favourite musical vagabonds. We're looking to sharing the speakers with someone as esteemed as Earl Gateshead. It's not often someone of this calibre and pedigree comes this far west.”
For those who don't fancy the late trip home after the party, there will be free camping in designated areas at Sandsifter.
