A live Q&A with Sir Ian McKellen is being shown in Truro, with a screening of Shakespeare's Richard III.
The British Film Institute (BFI) will be simulcasting the classic film from 1995, which starred Sir Ian McKellen and was directed by Richard Loncraine. Having been restored in 2K resolution, the film will be screened across UK cinemas with a special post-film on-stage discussion with Ian McKellen and Richard Loncraine, broadcast live from BFI Southbank.
The simulcast will begin with a one off showing of an exclusive documentary in which both Ian McKellen and Richard Loncraine reflect on the filmmaking process of Richard III, and the continuing significance of Shakespeare in society today.
One of the highlights of the Shakespeare on Film programme, the event is part of a series of screenings throughout 2016 celebrating the lasting legacy of William Shakespeare 400 years after his death.
The film, live Q&A and documentary will be screened at The Plaza cinema, Truro, in association with Park Circus on Thursday, April 28 at 7.30pm.
Audience members can submit questions for the post-film discussion using #RichardIII on Twitter
Tickets cost £12.50 adults, £10 concessions, and are available from The Plaza box office on 01872 272894, or online at ww.wtwcinemas.co.uk.
