Some of Cornwall's most exciting performance artists have collaborated with gifted and talented young people from Cornish schools to create a cross-generational performance.

Me, But Bigger is a unique project by Cornwall-based choreographer, Grace Clayton, and renowned Cornwall-based conductor, Patrick Bailey.

The performance features three live musicians, seven professional dancers and seven youth dancers aged 6 to 12.

Working on this dance and music experience has challenged the artists to think differently while also pushing the young people to challenge their own skills and ideas.

Grace said: "Overseeing this piece has been a real challenge and an honour. Watching unique creative relationships expand and grow in such a short space of time is almost indescribable. I am incredibly proud of the conviction and expression the young dancers have shown and I feel grateful and privileged to work with this selection of artists in this unique endeavour.”

An original musical composition has also been created alongside the dance, and will be led by Patrick Bailey, whose past projects include working with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and London Sinfonetta.

Me, But Bigger will be at AMATA, Falmouth University on Saturday, December 3 at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8, or £6 for concessions, and are available from the box office on 01326 259349, or online at amata.org.uk.

The project has been kindly supported by Feast, Falmouth University and Gaynor Fairweather M.B.E.
