RAMPS (Redruth Amateur Musical & Pantomime Society) are flying in to Redruth on a magical carpet with their musical pantomime adventure, Aladdin.

The amateur dramatics group, who are well known for their professional quality productions, are bringing their traditional panto to the Regal Theatre in the new year.

With spectacular scenery and costumes, music from a live band and dancing from the students of Bev Lyn Dance, the show follows Aladdin's journey from poverty-stricken laundry boy to wealthy Prince as he outwits the evil magician, Abanazer, and gains control of the magic lamp.

It tells the love story of Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, while also following the comic capers and slap stick fun of Widow Twankey and her loveable idiot son, Wishee Washee.

RAMPS production of Aladdin stars Helen Kemp as Aladdin and Melanie Houghton as Princess Jasmine, with Andy Christophers as Genie of the Lamp, Damon Taylor as Abanazar, Richard Glover as Widow Twankee and Gareth Harris as Wishee Washee.

Aladdin will be at the Regal Theatre, Redruth from Wednesday, January 11 to Sunday, January 15 with matinee and evening performances.

Tickets cost £13 for adults and £8 for children. Boxes are also available for each performance priced at £18 for adults and £13 for children (all seats in the box must be paid for).
