Rogue Theatre is bringing back its Wild Woodland Summer Ball, including even wilder shows in 2017, and all are invited to lose themselves in the enchanting tales of this wonderful world.

The company's summer extravaganza will return to Tehidy Woods this August, with never seen before stories and magical tales as well as shows specially created for wilder audiences.

The Wild Woodland Summer Ball is an exuberant, bewitching, and fun journey into a story world of enchantment - immersive outdoor theatre that stimulates all of the senses.

The natural woodland air feeds the flames of imagination setting them ablaze with thrilling brand new tales, enthralling live music, otherworldly performance, explosive acrobatics, mesmerizing fire and wildly beautiful dance. At the end of the show all can dance together, there is free face painting, the chance to create a wonderful woodland craft decoration and feast on fantastic wild woodland stew bubbling in the cauldron.

For 2017, Rogue Theatre has added two Wilder Shows - slightly shorter and created for those with wandering imaginations and those who would feel more relaxed in the company of other wilder audiences.

Ollie Oakenshield, co-founder of Rogue Theatre, said: “We’re so excited for the Wild Woodland Summer Ball this year and also to introduce the even Wilder Shows. We pride ourselves on attracting a really diverse audience and we hope to welcome new audiences this year. We make theatre that people want to bring their kids to but it is not limited to this demographic. So many adults enjoy our shows and we really want to stress that we accommodate and make theatre for all. This is theatre but not as people know it. We’re really proud that people who normally hate theatre absolutely love what we do.”

He added: “Forest creature costumes, faerie dress, otherworld outfits, party frocks, wildlife masks, funny hats, forest finery, frippery, feathers and fancy hairdos are encouraged although not essential. This applies to grown-ups as well as children.”

Shoes for adventure, or wellies, are recommended, and a torch for evening performances, and the Rogue team has a canopy ready for wet weather shows.

Rogue Theatre’s Wild Woodland Summer Ball will be gathering twice daily - the Sunlight Ball at 2.30pm and the Twilight Ball at 7.30pm - on August 23 to 28 and September 1 to 3, and the lasts about two and a half hours.

The Wilder Summer Ball Shows start at 11am on Saturday August 26 and Saturday September 2, and Rogue will also be presenting a one night only special music gig at the heart of the woods on August 29, details of which are to be revealed at a later date.

A standard ticket to the Wild Woodland Summer Ball is £8.50 of free for children three years and under.
