I WRITE to you to echo the massive ground swell of concern that I am hearing from the public about these proposed developments.

We cannot allow another unimaginative development snaffle up the last deep water all tides access wharf in the county. In this time of economic uncertainty, why would you extinguish the potential for future skilled employment?

Send the developer back to the drawing board to come up with a proposal that preserves Falmouth wharf as a marine industrial site.

• Request that the plans must not change the use of the site to introduce residential/leisure use.

• Point out that the wharf is the only place in Falmouth for mid-size support vessels to operate from.

• Point out that the CDC produced a report confirming that demand for marine industrial sites is on the rise and Falmouth wharf is uniquely poised to take advantage of this.

• Introducing residences to the wharf will permanently prevent the last deep water all tides access wharf in the county from fulfilling its potential to grow with the future growth of Falmouth Port.

Please think twice before stripping the town of a valuable and unique asset and handing the profits to a private developer. Please prioritise local jobs over developers profits.
