COUNCIL is persecuting poorest (Falmouth Packet, August 7) and what else should we expect in what is a capitalist driven, small, yet all powerful island termed Great Britain?
The local Cornwall Council are only emulating central Westminster government, clobbering the poorest and most vulnerable, not least the elderly, infirm and disabled and yet it is still many of these who still vote.
This sustains those within County Hall and at Westminster, whilst even here in Cornwall the Citizens Advice Bureau have made themselves less accessible to those needing more than ever their services.
Short of becoming a republic, or only voting into office independent candidates MPs and councillors, I’m afraid the dire situation for all those in work, out of work or disabled will never experience real democracy.
One that equates to fair play and fair shares for all, rather than that which we have endured for far too long, ie an increasing minority, the establishment, rotten rich and of course the monarchy all, getting richer at our expense.
