Dear Packet readers, I would like to thank everyone involved in the petition to save the field at Bosvale, It was to be given away in return for a new community center by the Rotary of Falmouth, The field was to be destroyed by building 75 retirement homes, with little regards for the wishes of the residents of Falmouth.

We have now put in place a planning application for the fields future use as a village green, which we believe was the intention of its use when this field was given to the community, according to a local retired Rotarian.

The planning application could take some time to be considered, as apparently this department is two years behind in processing applications, however the process for this application has been registered as from July 13 and we sincerely hope we have protected this open space for the future.

We as a community will now be looking to raise funds for a new community center, there is a real need to replace the aging and inadequate facility that is in constant use.

I will be contacting our local representative Alan Jewell to assist us in finding a way forward, with funding this project.

Thank you all again for being such a wonderful community of people, willing to stand up for some justice against constant building.

Yours sincerely Kathryn Philpott
