MAY I, through the pages of the Packet, congratulate Pendennis Ship Yard for arranging the fabulous Red Arrows to demonstrate their "breath taking" flying skills over Falmouth Bay, to the delight of thousands of spectators along the seafront.

Having lived in Falmouth for over 60 years, I cannot recall ever seeing a mini armada of so many craft of all shapes and sizes, anchored just off shore between Pendennis Headland and Swanpool Beach, which added to the spectacle.

In my opinion, having witnessed the Red Arrows on many occasions from Falmouth to the Isle of Man, the Falmouth Seafront has to be right up there for one of the very best locations on the UK mainland, offering the public un-obstructive viewing of these "Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines", with plenty of room to spare, rather than being crammed into various locations within the inner harbour, where they have performed in the past.

I look forward to their return in Falmouth Week.

Cllr David Saunby,

WOW! What a display from the Red Arrows. Thank you so much to Falmouth Town Council and all the Fal Festival sponsors who helped arrange them coming to Falmouth. The pilots’ skill and bravery was fantastic – it made you proud to watch it.
