REGARDING Union Corner roundabout in Falmouth, thanks must go to Councillor Oliver Cramp for stating “It will be a huge amount of money spent for not much gain.”

My view is after the outlay of money and time (six months), plus enormous inconvenience for drivers and residents, there will be little or no improvement.

The proposed roundabout cannot decrease the amount of traffic coming up Bickland Hill and with forthcoming further housing developments in the area, traffic can only increase.

I don’t object to roundabouts, we’ve got two here already, but building a new one will be extremely disruptive and end up with no improvement to the flow of traffic coming up the hill from the industrial estates. Also, it will ruin the school stadium field and turn Woodman’s Corner cottages into a traffic island.
