I WOULD like to thank local people of Camborne, Redruth and Hayle for their overwhelming support for our petition to save St Michael’s Hospital, Hayle.
Literally hundreds of people have signed and returned their petition forms to me.
Many have pushed their petitions through our shop door in Camborne making the journey especially to ensure we received the petitions as soon as possible. I thank everyone for this.
As we heard this week, Cornwall’s health service is financially ‘in a mess’ and we know that St Michael’s is running at less than 50 per cent capacity.
Could it be that the managers are not using services at St Michael’s to help them justify the economics of closing it? Surely not.
It has been suggested that we put the petition online so that many others can sign up. I am pleased to say that I have done this and you can sign the petition at workingforcamborneandredruth.com.
Once again, thank you to local people for your support. Please do sign the petition and together we can ensure St Michael’s stays open for one and all.
Michael Foster,
Commercial Street,
Camborne
