CALLING all former members of 409 (Cornwall) Independent Field Squadron RE, (Territorial Army) vintage 1956.
Your old regular army sergeant Ernie Durey would like to make contact with any members of the squadron who might remember him. Ernie spent some happy years looking after four TA units in Cornwall, based in Falmouth.
He was a lifetime soldier with the Royal Engineers before retiring as a Lt Colonel. He lives in Dorset and intends to visit Falmouth in September. He would be delighted to meet any of the old squadron members.
