What a superb job just completed by Collingtons fitting our windows and doors throughout the house in under two weeks. Sarah and I are so impressed we thought we would share it with you and your readers.

We have just moved down to Mullion, to a quirky dwelling originally made up of three old farm buildings, which we now know comprises a total of 29 doors and windows all of slightly different sizes and shapes. Remember the winter wind and rains? Well after that we knew every room either leaked water or had drafty gales blowing through them, so we decided to replace everything.

It took from March to June, before we settled on Collingtons. They stood out even then, in the way Colin and Mark, the owners, who do their own surveys, took time to explain the options, the technicalities (in layman’s terms) and the various knock on effects of certain decisions.

The team duly arrived on a Monday morning - Paul (always ready for a coffee), Dan (the quiet one), Captain Glyno (steering the ship often with tea in hand), Scott (the late arrival), and Gary (Pixs to everyone, the team singer).

They were always in good spirits, had a great team ethic supporting one another in the various tasks they had to do, and always friendly, humorous and helpful when asked why they were doing a job a certain way.

Their attention to detail was brilliant, e.g. one door was worked on for three days before they agreed it was right. What we thought might be a ‘nightmare fortnight’ was done and dusted quite smoothly and painlessly.

As far as Sarah and I are concerned, what started as a rather daunting project ended on time and with a great result – all down to the professionalism and reliability of the whole team at Collingtons, so I would have no qualms about recommending them to carry out big replacements or conversions.
