I would be grateful if you could find a bit of editorial space to convey my personal praise and thanks to the Cornwall Council Highways and Transportation team.
Like all council departments, this group is trying to operate with dwindling budgets and receives more than its fair share of flak.
However, last week I reported an overgrown buddleia bush that was growing next to the pedestrian bridge over the railway at Penryn. The offending foliage was blocking the vision of drivers trying to pull out of Green Lane into Kernick Road. Drivers needed to pull out into the Kernick Road before they could get a clear vision of both carriageways.
The highways team trimmed the bush back the same day making life simpler and safer for motorists and pedestrians.
Good work.

Penryn
