LEAVING aside the storm that engulfed us all right at the very end, only two things marred what was a fine and fitting remembrance service in Kimberley Park on Sunday morning.
The PA system was inadequate and badly positioned - those of us lined up on the Kimberley Park road side of the service could hear next to nothing. And this was not helped at all by the traffic roaring up and down Kimberley Park Road itself. Several vehicles actually drove noisily through the two minute silence.
Surely, people, given that Killigrew Street runs in and out of town parallel to it, we can close Kimberley Park Road just for an hour next year so that some peace and solemnity can be maintained.
