Let’s hope the latest tranche of European funding goes to the right places! No wonder the Government wants the last say on how this latest £500 million pounds is going to be spent, I remember being at county hall when we got awarded the first Euro funding and at that time we were told it would transform Cornwall.
Excuse me, but can you really see any difference? A university in the wrong place which was going to produce local leaders etc. What have we got?
More organisations, hospitals and quangos run by those from across the border and it’s still going on. Aren’t our people good enough? If not why not? Is it the university’s fault.
Another thing that annoys us Cornish is the way this money is given out.
It seems to be going to the wrong places and I’ve got to say it to the wrong people, after all the original hype and euphoria, in your hearts can you really see any difference, all its helped is the “in crowd” and friends of the friends.
