Huge congratulations to Rev Danny Reed and his team at Helston Methodist Church for the stunning Narnia Experience recently.

It was truly magical, with the chapel transformed into different areas from the book in incredible attention to detail - from the moment you pushed past the array of fur coats hanging in the wardrobe that formed the entrance, into a winter wonderland compete with lamp post, through to Mr Tumnus' and the Beavers' houses (where a small Cornish range had even been brought upstairs!), the opulent throne room and later saw Aslan skillfully created out of dried flowers as he lay seemingly sacrificed on the slab.

Naturally parallels were drawn with the Easter story, but these were never forced down your throat and you were just as welcome to spend half an hour exploring the different world and carrying out the interactive elements. And all this for free, although I know most, myself included, were only too happy to leave a donation at the end.

We are lucky in Helston to have people in our community that put on such events (Helston Theatre Group's production of Sunset Boulevard next week and the ongoing workshops at Helston Museum are two more examples) and to such a high standard, and I would urge everyone to show their support - just as I know many hundreds did over the last two weeks with Narnia.

E Ferguson,
