I would like to respond to the picture of the policeman on page 3 in the Falmouth Packet of the 8th April.

When I was young, most naval men had beards they were even on cigarette packets and RAF wore handlebar moustaches. The army were clean shaven, police were clean shaven as were most professional services. I find it very hard to find myself looking up in respect to a policeman who looks like a terrorist with guns in front of him. I also think that the majority of the public would respect the police more if they were clean shaven.
