May I take this opportunity of expressing my sincere thanks to Volunteer Cornwall and other charities, as well as those professionals and volunteers involved in various health and welfare organisations, who attended the latest initiative by the charity in galvanising a number of local communities in areas of Cornwall, which took place recently at Carnon Downs in our beautiful village hall and which involves a good number of charities and other associations, consisting of many dedicated individuals, all of whom are working together towards consolidating local communities and sharing their expertise and excellence in their joint efforts to benefit so many residents and others who may need support, advice, or assistance in one form or another.

Each and every individual has an important role to play throughout this important project, contributing unique expertise and experience, all of which can be shared for the benefit of others, by those volunteers who contribute their own time, efforts and valuable presence.

The occasion was another positive step forward for an ongoing project of which those who benefit as well as all who contribute, are an integral part within continuing outreach within and beyond our local communities.

One of many such projects which will grow from strength to strength and one with which I am delighted and proud to be involved.

Lomond Handley,
Carnon Downs
