I'm writing because I am worried about the TTIP. Hardly anyone has heard about this secret trade deal being negotiated by politicians in the EU and US but if it is passed, the implications could be massive. I am one of 2 million people who have signed a petition to abolish the deal.
The TTIP could allow greedy corporations to buy up some of our most vital services, including the NHS. It would also given big corporations the power to sue our government and the governments of other countries if they don't like the laws that protect us.
Our MEPs were supposed to vote on the TTIP on the 10th June. The parliament's president cancelled the vote because he was worried that they might vote against the TTIP.
We need to keep the pressure on the MEPs to let them know that we don't want the TTIP to go ahead.
The more people who know about the implications of the TTIP, the better. This is not something that benefits the people, it only benefits big corporations.
