On behalf of the Royal British Legion I would like to thank everyone who has supported the Poppy Appeal this year. The total so far for the Falmouth area this year is a fantastic £12,628.53.
This collection would not be possible without the fantastic team of volunteers who give their time to deliver and collect boxes, count the tins and collect both at Sainsburys and in the town. Thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped in so many ways. Many volunteers help year after year and it was also lovely this year to have some new volunteers. Thank you also to the local Air Cadets who spent two Saturdays collecting in the town.
I would like to especially thank the staff at Sainsburys who were so kind to our volunteers and also helped with the counting of the tins.
Once again this year Dolly’s Tea Room sold knitted and crocheted poppies and I would like to thank everyone who gave their time to create these much loved poppies.
Finally, a huge thank you to the businesses, shops, schools and organisations who took Poppy boxes and to everyone who contributed towards the appeal.
If you would like to be involved in the 2016 appeal please contact Fiona Ferguson at falmouthpoppyappeal@hotmail.com
