Having read your article page three of this weeks Packet I would be very interested to know whether Cornwall County Council had impose a tree preservation order or TPO on the tree in question?
Their ability to cite hazardous trees with TPO is poor and their decisions to "grant" appropriate care and maintenance to trees under TPO that are obviously of importance is very narrow minded.
The tree that came down looks like an oak and certainly looks as though it needed attention to reduce its windage.
I wonder what County Council's stance is on this particular incident?
Had anyone raised a request to maintain this tree? And had County Council denied this maintenance? At the cost not only to the poor and very lucky individual trapped underneath a collapsed roof, but also the tree itself.
