The current situation faced by the small business owners featured in last week's Falmouth packet,

"Business owners left with nowhere to go," is deplorable. Just what are they supposed to do?

Penryn Town Council apparently did not do their homework, by not knowing that the units were occupied, before granting their permission for a large retail store to go ahead.

Such a large retail development to be granted the go ahead on a traditionally industrial site is bad enough, but did no one from the Council really have any idea that the buildings were occupied and if they did not, why did they not find out?

It is all very well that Councillor Mary May met with the business owners and to be sorry for their plight, but what do these people do when there is a dearth of vacant, small industrial units available to them? Penryn Town Council should have been aware of all the facts before making any decision.

Finally, another large retail store at that site is going to cause more traffic chaos on Kernick roundabout (Asda), particularly at peak times, than there is now, which according to the county highways department is all ready close to capacity.
