Reading the Packet issue dated March 16, I could not believe the money that is now being spent running the organisation.

Chris Warham (interim chief executive) tells us he can justify much more appropriate new offices as a necessary working environment for his "dedicated, talented team behind this dynamic and passionate organisation".

Not that long ago they had a single premises on Water-ma-Trout, accommodating everything and everybody, including a dedicated team of volunteers.

Now it seems they have premises on the Lizard, additional facilities on Water-ma-Trout, and shortly very posh prestige offices in Truro, and oh yes I nearly forgot a head office in the City of London (Canary Wharf no less).

I wonder how their generous donors (including pensioners and children) must feel about this!

What a shame such a good idea as Shelterbox now seems to be off the rails, costing a fortune to achieve its aims. High salaries, and now enormous overheads - the generous donors must be asking themselves questions. There are many other local and smaller charities that I am sure could do with the money spent far more prudently.

After all, what is more important, delivering help to those in need, or spending on prestigious property and employees? This is after all is said and done a charity.
