Is there anything at all that can be done to prevent the constant stream of well over the 30 MPH limit vehicles that travel through Ponsanooth on a daily basis?

The speed camera warning sign located to the right hand side of the carriageway as you travel towards Redruth has no effect whatsoever!

Probably due to the fact that there are never any cameras present?

Cars, delivery vehicles, buses, council vehicles - you name it, they speed. Lorries are a nightmare as they brake to a halt in order to avoid oncoming traffic at some 'pinch' locations in the village. Invariably they are also travelling far to quickly for the road conditions.

It would seem that due to the nature of this section of the Queen's Highway there is a God given right for drivers to aggressively accelerate into, through and out of the village. Drivers are aware there is no active policing of the 30 MPH limit.

Can something please be done to stop this from happening?

Speeding happens all day long but is most noticeable between 7am and 10am and 4pm to 7pm.

I hope that amongst your other vital day-to-day policing you can find some time to come along and 'educate' these persistent speeders we have to endure day after day after day. With a few NIP's and supported by the local press I am positive that within a reasonable period of time speeds could be much reduced and therefore enhance the home ownership conditions for those villagers located along the main road.

Could we have some swift action please?

Sincerely,

Alan R Thompson
