Bonfire fumes cause environmental damage

THERE are a couple of environmental issues taking place in Penryn that I am writing to you about!

The first is to remind the persons that are flytipping their garden waste in my access driveway in West Street that there is a council facility for this on United Downs to save the wind blowing all the leaves down the street, which then have to be swept up at council taxpayers expense.

Also, at this particular time with bereavement in my family, it would be helpful if you ceased so that nice visiting folk have unhindered parking access.

The second is about bonfires. There are also laws about this and they do not include the householder at his end of town burning waste in their garden once a week before 6pm.

The damage here is twofold and I know from word of mouth that more than enough folk are adversely affected, either by fumes entering their houses with open windows or having their washing wrecked.
