AS someone who is passionate about Falmouth and the future of this town I believe we must keep the post of town manager.

Whilst most high street towns have suffered over the last 12 months I believe that with the work done by the town manager, the town council and the traders working together Falmouth has been better prepared than most.

Whilst some may snipe at the post, I am not one.

I believe the professionalism of David Pollard is second to none and he will be greatly missed when he has gone.

For the last six and a half years I consider I have done my best for the town. Providing the electorate vote me in again next time I will continue to do so. The council can only move forward with people like David Pollard, Sam Groom, the BIDS team, the traders, pub landlords and the university all working together.

Yes money will be tight in the years to come but then isn't it always? The town and people of Falmouth are special and deserve the best.

The fire brigade and police proved that last week by working together and pulling of one of the best firework displays for in excess of 4000 local people in one of the best settings in the world. Let us all move forward together.

Cllr Steve Eva, Falmouth Town & Cornwall Council
