HOW right H N Johnson is. A packet of garden bags cost me seven per cent of my pension and because of their fragility I now collect my leaves etc in a strong black sack and have to stand outside on a Wednesday evening, come rain or shine, decanting the greenery into those biodegradable monstrosities. Even then the bags split if I dare to put in a small twig from a hydrangea bush.
