WITH the current road maintenance in Helston and subsequent road closures with diversions in place, a little forethought would not have gone amiss regarding the obvious congestion through the town centre.
Would it not have been beneficial to coincide with these works with the location of a traffic warden or two in the town centre?
This would have least prevented the inconsiderate parking of vehicles in very inappropriate places, therefore adding to the congestion by causing the traffic to come to a complete standstill until the departure of the offending vehicles. I am not referring to delivery lorries.
In addition, in a county so full of hills, I am surprised at the amount of people that have still not mastered the art of a hill start on a perfectly dry road.
Incidentally, the Meaver Road, that is the main road in an out of Mullion, would benefit from some nice new tarmac.
Even with the benefit of four new tyres, it is only a matter of time before one’s vehicle will not grip the road, as there will be no road left to grip.
