Not just troublemakers, objectors have a point

IF David Barnicoat was to look he would see there were objectors in Antigua and Jamaica against the dock building, so it is not just Falmouth, Cornwall.

Why are the objectors always brushed aside? I once thought this country was a democracy, but it would seem we are just trouble makers! Let’s have some transparency from Mr Childs and Lavery about Peel Holdings who should pay for the dredging. Why does their name keep getting swept under the carpet?

Perhaps you could write to Antigua and object to their local authorities about cruise ship facilities. Have you been there? They have 6-7 large cruise ship berths and welcome around 15-20 ships a WEEK! In one day they can have 10 or 12 thousand visitors.
The St.John's Taxi Association gets most of its trade from cruise passengers . Falmouth and the nearby Nelson's Dockyard only survive because of cruisers.
As for democracy and brushing the objectors aside; Is democracy about letting people 3000 miles away decide local policy? And if the objectors had really been brushed aside dredging would have gone ahead long ago at far less cost.
Try visiting places that thrive on cruise calls then you may find yourself some understanding of the subject.
