Thanks for making Penryn’s celebrations so memorable

Penryn has just celebrated Her Majesty the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with its usual gusto. We had a weekend of events to mark the occasion, including a charity ball, displays of royal memorabilia in the chapel and a “right royal” quiz.
The high point of the weekend was the street party on the Monday – Higher Market Street was transformed into a party, packed with people eating, drinking tea and listening to Helford Town Band. My thanks go to all the helpers, to all the people and businesses who donated food and raffle prizes. Everyone worked very hard to make it a memorable day.
