Thank you to hospital’s ‘truly amazing’ staff

SO often nowadays people are too quick to give negative comments about our NHS and we as a family would like to extend our appreciation and highly praise the staff at Camborne and Redruth Community Hospital.

In April this year my dad suffered a severe stroke and was admitted to hospital. After spending almost three weeks in Treliske, he was then transferred to Lanyon Stroke Rehabilitation Unit at Camborne and Redruth Community Hospital.

The staff there were truly amazing – they all worked together collectively as a fantastic team. Everyone admitted to the stroke unit is assessed by the stroke specialist multi-disciplinary team, who consist of doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, rehab support workers and healthcare assistants.

We were able to liaise with team members and were given the opportunity to discuss goals, progress and discharge plans and were informed and supported throughout dad’s stay.

The hospital was absolutely spotlessly clean – even down to the gardens which were extremely well kept and cared for. There was even a little rose garden for patients to sit in and enjoy.

Forgive us as there are too many people to individually name and thank, but I am sure the ward sister, Mrs Denise Williams, will pass on our gratitude.

We are very fortunate and it makes us very proud to say we have one of the best Stroke Rehabilitation Units in the country. We cannot praise them enough.
