I cannot speak highly enough of the NHS

Every day newspapers and TV reveal yet another scandal related to the NHS. But I cannot speak highly enough of the care my 96-year-old father received during his final days.
From the district nurse who moved mountains (of paperwork) to get an end-of-life package in place, the carers who treated Dad with kindness and respect, the Serco doctor who arrived within an hour of my call, the on-call district nurse who had to grab a colleague from another surgery (post-Shipman regulations) in order to fit a syringe driver to continue Dad's medication after he could no longer take it by mouth, every one of them was marvellous. As a result of their dedication and care Dad was able to remain at home and passed peacefully away in his own bed.
