Selfish minority want dogs on ‘our beautiful beaches’

Last week's Packet had me smiling. Once again a member of Falmouth's selfish minority of dog owners had put forward a (once again) 'seemingly' reasonable plea and plan to get their dog back on our beautiful beaches.
Unfortunately for them, their letter literally followed a third of a page article entitled 'Dog Mess Misery' highlighting the vile problems the poor souls of Flushing and Mylor are having with dogs, and feckless owners.
So I don't feel I need to write much more, except perhaps, to point out, that last week's correspondent mentioned meeting a 'delightful' couple from London, walking their dog on the fields above Gylly beach. Yes, that's right, fields, just above Gylly beach, where you can walk your dog. Fields with fabulous views of sea, sky and sometimes sun.
Fields where your dog can run, slobber, growl, and mess to its heart's content. And I can't do anything about it. And I'm okay with that.

They give responsible dog owners a bad name, just the same as the irresponsible idiots who bury baby's nappies and used barbeques in the sand, or throw their takeaway wrappers and beercans out of their car windows.
As in so many walks of life it's the selfish few that ruin things for everyone.
As you say; "our" beaches. "Everyones" beaches. Not just yours.
Surely there's room for both dog-free and dog-friendly beaches, and then punish the soilers and spoilers on both.
But we don't punish the offenders for much nowadays, we just ban it for everybody.
So the only answer seems to be no dogs, together with no BBQs, no babies, no picnics, drinks, games etc etc.
