Bank wouldn’t change £10 note for woman 94
WHAT derision greeted the announcement from the oldest member (94) that she was late for her first meeting of the Carrick Older Person's Forum because Barclays Bank would not break her £10 note to give her change to purchase a parking ticket.
She was asked if she banked with Barclays to which she was honest enough to reply "no" and so, in effect, she was told to take a "running jump".
Is this some daft bank policy or just an act of meanness? Discretion? - never heard of it. Either way shame on Barclays Bank.
Councillor Judith Whiteley Carrick district champion for the elderly and vulnerable
