Glad to hear Primary Care Trust will reconsider
I WELCOME the fact that the Primary Care Trust will now undertake a full consultation before deciding whether to move some specialist cancer services from RCHT to Derriford.
Once again, with Liberal Democrats at the helm, the county council overview and scrutiny committee for health seemed willing to nod through reduced local access to NHS services, if people had not protested.
If the consultation shows that the people who use local NHS services do not want these changes to go ahead, the Primary Care Trust should think again and find other ways to ensure excellent cancer care can be provided locally when people need it most.
Anyone who would like to let me know their views on local NHS services is welcome to contact me through www.charlottemackenzie.com or 01872 261675.
Charlotte MacKenzie, Labour parliamentary candidate for Truro and Falmouth
