About this neighbourhood
Boat Watch
"The Solitaire" Devon and Cornwall Police Boat Watch was launched in July 2009 by the Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team at Falmouth Police Station.
It was originally the pilot scheme for Cornwall and is a partnership project based on the principals of neighbourhood watch, with the common goal to reduce marine crime and the fear of marine crime.
In it's first season Boat Watch has achieved a massive near 40% reduction in marine crime in the Fal area.
Boat Watch has seen a marine crime decrease of 71% between April 2011-2012 compared to the previous year.
The Police provide practical crime prevention advice using modern up to date marine crime fighting tools. These tools include the unique Devon and Cornwall Police outboard engine covers and marine property marking kit. All of which can be purchased via local chandlers and point of sale marine businesses.

The membership of the Falmouth Boat Watch is approximately 5,000 people via all of the local sailing clubs/associations, marina's, chandlers, yacht brokers, marine services and local harbour masters in the area known as the Fal Estuary. It engages key stakeholders together with local communities to provide a hostile enviroment to terrorists and criminals looking to disrupt the everyday lives and safety of those who live and work or travel through our waters.

Through the provision of a central phone number, (101) you can report any unusual activity or behaviour within the maritime enviroment, belived or suspected to be linked to either crime or preparatory acts of terrorism.

Town Council Meeting - Police Report

Where: Penryn Town Hall/Council Chanmbers
This is a monthly meeting held by the Mayor (Gill Grant) and the Towns Councilors.A Police report is given to the Councilors by the Local Neighbourhood Team giving the previous months crime figures and any significant future events etc.This is also a chance for members of the public to attend and discuss any issues they may have for the Police or Town Mayor. -
