Penryn fire road now open
The main commuter road through Penryn has reopened after being closed for more than 14 hours, in the wake of a massive fire.
Commercial Road was closed to traffic until just after 2pm today, following a blaze that destroyed Christies Furniture Store.
Fire crews rushed to the scene just before midnight, after Truro's fire control room received over 60 emergency 999 calls from members of the public.
At one point around 80 fire fighters from across the county battled the blaze.

Oh! What absolute, heavenly bliss, when Commercial/Church Road/The Praze were closed yesterday. You could even hear birds singing!!! I respect the people who have their businesses and livlihoods to uphold but the amount of traffic and nocturnal 'boy-racers' even Lewis Hamilton would feel at home.
