Award winning choir to host open rehearsals
A prestigious male voice choir is holding open rehearsals around the Lizard Peninsula in a bid to increase numbers.
Members of St Keverne Male Voice Choir, who won an award at the Cornwall Music Festival earlier this month, are holding a series of Out of Town Open Rehearsal evenings over the next few weeks.
The choir currently has around 30 members, but the hope is to reach 40 singers as a result of the rehearsals.
Anyone interested in male voice singing or who thinks they would like to join a choir are invited to attend the evenings to see what goes on and are welcome to join in the singing. Any former members of choirs wanting to get back into it are also welcome.
The first open rehearsal is taking place on Monday, April 7, from 7.30pm in the Lizard Reading Room.
The choir is currently preparing its summer season programme, which ranges from Dvorak to Westlife as well as traditional Cornish songs.
For more details contact the secretary, John Christophers, on 01326 290305 or chairman, John Allen, on 01326 280921.
