Fast food company Domino's Pizza hopes to open an outlet in Falmouth town centre.

Domino's Pizza Group Limited have applied for planning permission to create a hot food takeaway outlet at 40 Killigrew Street/9 The Moor.

The creation of the outlet would involve a change-of-use to the premises, as well as new shop front and the addition of ventilation ducting.

The plans will be considered at the next planning meeting of Falmouth town council, on Monday.

Falmouth heading further down the tubes, soon Falmouth will be so tacky that the kind of 'visitor' that go to Newquay will be put off. Falmouth degenerating rather than regenerating, appealling to penny pinching students and low rent tourists, what a way forward the Skegness of the south coast?

NO NO NO!! How depressing. All we need now is a Starbucks (god forbid) and Falmouth will be complete in its homogenisation. Please, somebody, stop these awful chains moving in and ruining our beautifully quirky town.

O how i wish people like Kirsten would shut up.

Take a look around will you.
Falmouth is dirty, (check out Iceland - you'll see what i mean). Lets modernise the place.
Quirky - my ****.
Dull and boring more like!!!!

Dear Mr Tiddles,
So move somewhere else. Are you going to be the one picking up empty pizza boxes strewn around the place after the weekend? Thought not... Some of us do actually enjoy this town. I know being positive about one's environment takes a little more energy than being negative about it but why not give it a go?
Lots of love.

Greetings Kirsten.
I have lived in falmouth all me life, apart from the 4 years i was up at derby uni.
Why would there be pizza boxes strewn about? There's the pizza pantry opposite argos and a pizza express tother end of town, i dont know of any problems with litter from those places.
Dont get me wrong, i like falmouth, but you have to admit, it is dirty, the state of the buildings is a disgrace. This town is full of sub standard clothes shops. Squeegee your third eye, you will then see!!
i want to know what is going to happen to the drill hall, lovely building, massive potential for a live music venue - oops, sorry, wouldnt be able to convert it into a music venue would we? twould upset the 'do gooders'. Best leave it in its dilapidated
state - just like the rest of falmouth...
And for my next trick..
Rock music will save your life.

Now you've really upset me with that implication that I'm a do-gooder, and rock music's already saved my life, thanks! I too am a born and bred Falmouthian apart from a spell away. For your info the drill hall is to become a cinema. I am not saying Falmouth is perfect - my point is DOMINOS is a particularly tacky and sub-standard chain of the same ilk as Burger King and the kebab shop which is where my litter concern comes from. It's also likely to hit family run businesses like the Pizza Pantry. Yes, let's modernise and regenerate, but not at the cost of the individual shops we have, and if we must have chains why should we settle for low-grade ones? Hope I've made myself clearer.

I should'nt think Falmouth could be made any worse by a new fast food joint opening up.
Falmouth already a student and old biddy infested dump, anybody not fitting into this bracket, is almost certainly a plastic snob, i hate the place, only a nuclear holocaust would mske it any more appealing to me, as i would'nt even have to go and visit, i could just watch the highlights on Sky News!!

From experience Dominoes pizzas are very expensive for very little . do we really need anymore food outlets. plus with little parking it is going to add to congestion in the town!!!!

Come on Stacey, get yer head out of the clouds.
Falmouth comprises mostly of overly priced restaurants, fact.

Why should the restaurants of Falmouth price themselves to accommodate the dolers and students, rather than provide fare and pricing structures that are more appealing to drownies and other affluent tourists. After all Falmouth three primary industries are now, tourism, 'education' and old folks care provision, and unofficially the drugs trade.

Us "penny pinching students" contribute a hell of alot to the local economy. Chuck the students and tourists out and lets see what happens.
