A man standing on a Truro viaduct during the early hours of this morning was persuaded back down to safety thanks to the skills of police officers.
Officers were called to the viaduct above St George's Road at around 3.10am today, following a report of a man standing on top of the viaduct.
When they arrived they found a 35-year-old man from the Truro area who was indicating an intention to harm himself.
However, after engaging him in conversation for an hour, the man was persuaded back down to safety and transferred into the care of health professionals.

The full regatta programme for the Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta has been finalised.
