Real ale enthusiasts are hopping up and down with excitement at the arrival of a special edition charity ale now available in Porthleven.
For a limited period the Harbour Inn is offering Porthleven Pioneer, with all the proceeds being split between the RNLI and the Porthleven Lights fund.
It was created by Paul Pitt, manager of the Harbour Inn, with Phil Williams and Nigel Buxton of the Porthleven Real Ale Tasting Society - otherwise known as PRATS.
Together they visited the St Austell Brewery, where with the help of head brewer Roger Ryman they created the ale.
Mr Pitt said: "The ale has been created specifically for the Harbour Inn. We named it Porthleven Pioneer because we used pioneer hops for the first time at St Austell Brewery."
The trio were able to taste the ale at each stage of the process and decide on the difference balances.
The result is a smooth, rich golden brown classic IPA, of 4.4 per cent - described by Mr Pitt as "sweet and hoppy," adding: "And you'll be hopping when you drink it!"
Ale fans need to be quick however, as there are only 45 gallons in existence and once it's gone it's gone.
