Surfers in Falmouth had a treat on Friday as waves rolled in at Gylly beach.
The north coast is by far the more famous part of the Cornish coastline for waves, but when the conditions are right the normally sheltered a safe beach can explode into life.
Wave hunters from the town can thank a run of strong easterly winds, pushing waves down the channel, combined with north winds to groom the groundswell into the clean lines that surfers enjoy.
With waves at the beach a rare sight, it was not only the surfers out enjoying themselves, plenty of wave watchers also took the chance to pop down and see some daring-do close to home.
