Helston motorhome business targeted by thieves

Thieves have targeted Hall's Motorhome Centre on Penzance Road, Helston and stolen catalytic converters from ten of its vehicles.

WPC Anne Butcher, from Helston Police Station, told the town's councillors last Thursday: “This type of theft is being seen in both Devon and Cornwall and would clearly take planning and time to complete. We ask the public to be vigilant.”

meerkats, i have only just read this, i feel sorry for you putting up with all that criticism, as you say you are not paid to do the job. I have had a real long think about this and decided that this will be my last ever comment on this forum. Lanty Slee once criticised me and said i would be better off with a different paper just because i said something like this one condones bullying, so i did start buying a different paper, so he lost them a sale. Wonder if he works for the Packet. I am also fed up to with the likes of falmouthborn and Poldark that cannot hold a debate without getting personal, and they criticised Steve Eva for months. My nan read this article as well, in fact she pointed it out to me, she is not impressed either. The Packet has got good reporters like Emma Ferguson and Greg fountain and the sports reporter and good editors but i just choose not to comment or read the website anymore or buy the paper. So it is goodbye from me and good luck meerkats you are one of the best.

As for above the article, that is all the more reason to have more police out on the roads. They need a bigger budget.

DCI jen , thanks for your comment ,it did knock me a bit that someone could be so nasty and i nearly stopped doing anymore comments myself. Hope you will change your mind , and don't let them win. I always enjoy reading your posts and your nans too. Its a shame that Poldark, Falmouth born and seacom seem to launch personal attacks on people rather than hold a constructive debate, hope you will reconsider ,. All the best

what a strange comment. I agree with DCI Jen that there should be more police cover but it comes down to lack of money.

Nooooo .I was referring to what I considered banter not bullying.
My goodness I think the packet staff must really consider themselves bullied with the errors they make and the comments they get.
Keep up the comments, not everybody means to upset and what one perceives as amusing, another might not.Its what makes the world go around.

I have only just read this article, been a bit busy lately, I wonder if it is the same thieves that targeted Vauxhalls when it used to be up there at the top of the Hill. The trouble is if you see people doing things how do you know if they are doing something in an official capacity or not. I saw what I thought was someone putting up a fence once and it transpired they were stealing it, however I can't very well go round challenging everyones movements. I do challenge the obvious though, like the securicor van that had a recorded message playing "securicor van under attack please phone the police"

meerkats don't ever stop commenting, I know people can interpret things different ways, but I understand how you feel because with me I find Poldarks comments are just plain nasty/rude at times and there is positively only one way to interpret them particularly as over the months she/he has singled me out. I am quite happy to take constructive criticism though.

Shame there wasn't someone in one of the motorhomes at the time, that would have given the thieves a shock.

Unfortunately too many people seem to use the comments section as a forum for bullying others and that is the only way some of the comments on this website can be taken. People should not use these as a way of bullying others as Ju White has stated on another comment bit. I do hope that Gill, Meerkats and Jen will keep contributing as it is sad if they feel the need to stop - the Packet needs to act responsibly and check any comment before they are accepted and put on here like national papers and other sites seem to.

jane-w ,I agree with your comments ,re the Packet should check before they are accepted. Dont know if you have read the cyclists going the wrong way in Falmouth article ,but some of the comments there were very insulting to each other Any form of bullying is wrong ,and i am going to keep on commenting ,and not let them ruin it for me. hope Gill and Jen will do the same.
