A Truro mother-of-two had her family holiday to New York thrown into chaos this week after a supersized storm descended on the city.
Sarah Trethowan, aged 41, was trapped in her hotel room yesterday with her husband of 17 years Jonathan and their two children, 11-year-old Erin and Kieran, aged eight.
Their plight was inflicted by a deadly “Frankenstorm,” which was created when Hurricane Sandy merged with a winter storm to create a deadly and destructive cyclone that had claimed 16 lives at the time of going to press.
It also caused the destruction of replica tallship HMS Bounty, which visited Falmouth last June and had starred as the “Black Pearl” in hit blockbuster Pirates Of The Carribean.
