Alleged serial Falmouth shoplifter remanded in custody

AN ALLEGED serial shoplifter entered no pleas when he appeared at Truro Magistrates Court accused of seven thefts in Falmouth.

Neil Woodside, 27, of Trevethan Road, Falmouth, was also charged with resisting a police officer.

He is accused of stealing goods from Falmouth Bookshop, Boots, Sainsburys, Smiths and a town-based artist. Magistrates refused an application for bail, remanding him in custody. His next court appearance will be by video link.

So many interesting things could be bubbling under the surface of this story. What were the items stolen and were they connected in some way? What was stolen from a 'town-based' artist? Why will the thief's next court appearance be via video? Come on! Let's get some decent reporting in chaps.

I like you molesworth, some of your comments are really quite entertaining - but you obviously know nothing of reporting restrictions or the concept of contempt of court.

This is not poor reportage, it's accurate within the bounds of the law.

It is not a media outlet's job to try the accused... We have a judicial system for that.
