Restaurants in West Cornwall have signed up to a scheme to help support homless charities.
Rosewarne Manor in Hayle, Treloyhan Manor in St Ives and Archie Browns in Penzance have joined Bustophers, The Riverbank and Archie Browns in Truro, the Old Quay Inn in Devoran, the Golden Lion in Stithians, Courtyard Deli and Amanzi in Falmouth, the Waterside in Flushing, to support the StreetSmart scheme.
StreetSmart is a national campaign that runs every November with money raised in each county supporting local charities in that area, with £8,000 raised last year
The Cornwall campaign will support St Petroc’s Society, the Cornwall Women’s Refuge Trust and the Cornish branches of Foodbank.
The scheme works by restaurants asking customer’s permission to add £1 onto each table’s bill during November and December. Every pound donated goes to the charities.
All of the restaurants taking part are listed on StreetSmart’s website at www.streetsmart.org.uk.
